The Morse family was one of the early pioneer families in present-day Bellingham, Washington. In 1875, R. I. (Robert I.) Morse moved from Waterville, Maine to San Francisco, California, where he met and married his first wife, Etta Fowler (1861-1906), with whom he had five children. In 1884, R.I.
